A brief chronology regarding the use of the term User Experience (UX), which is related to the history of UX development in Indonesia. It will be discussed from the perspective of the author’s personal experience in using outside-in and inside-out strategies, including Service Design, as an argument about the importance redefine the term UX.
Based on the UX definition from Norman-Nielsen, we see that the definition is only limited to outside-in strategies, or in other words product design only focuses on end-user interaction. Because of the various weaknesses, the definition of UX is no longer enough to cover organizational design, digital transformation, or ecosystem design.
